In the clawhammer banjo style, Cathy will teach us songs with chords and embellishments and offer us singing tips that will give us the tools to sing with our banjos.  If time and interest permits, she will also teach a tune or two.
 

Cathy Fink (www.cathymarcy.com) is a 30 year veteran of the folk scene. She has produced over 50 recordings, including “Banjo Haiku.”  With her partner, Marcy Marxer, she has earned two GRAMMY awards for their recordings.

Cost: $50.00 per person

Level: Cathy will teach at an intermediate level; students should know how to tune their banjo and know a few tunes in G/A and Double C/D.  She teaches by ear, so bring your tape recorder.

Workshop size is limited, and places will be reserved in the order that checks are received.  Please sign up early so you won’t be disappointed.  You will be mailed confirmation of your registration with directions to the workshop.  After January 1^st, refunds will be made only if we can find a substitute for you or if the class is cancelled due to bad weather, etc.
