The mystery event
on the FOB schedule can now be revealed! Mac Traynham is coming up here to
do workshops in November! As you may know, Mac won the banjo contest at
Clifftop this year (for the second time), and is a fine fiddler too. As
you'll note in the official flier, reproduced below, the cost is quite
reasonable for instruction of this quality, so Howard Jones and I hope
you'll reserve these dates and attend one or both workshops. We look forward
to seeing you then!
FIDDLE AND BANJO
WORKSHOPS with MAC TRAYNHAM
Mac Traynham is
one of the finest traditional fiddle and banjo players around, and will
share the tunes and techniques from his home area in the Blueridge of
Virginia. He won first place in the Clifftop banjo contest again this year,
and is also a master of traditional fiddling.
With his wife,
Jenny, he has a brand new CD out, entitled “I’m Going That Way.” (Mac will
have copies available. If you like Mac's music as much as I do, I think
you’ll want one too.)
