Playing at Camp Rock

July 31, 2005  FOB was invited to Camp Rock to play at an evening hoedown for the kids. The band consisted of Howard on fiddle, Jim on bass, Keith and Chris on guitar, and Hubie, Barbara and Rosemarie on banjo. Keith also performed ably as our sound engineer, setting up the equipment kindly lent by Rosemarie’s neighbor, Steve.

While the campers danced and played games, we played Red-Haired Boy, Cumberland Gap, Brushy Run, Wine’s Delight, June Apple, Old Joe Clark, The Sandy Boys, She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain, and Angeline the Baker.

The campers enjoyed the music and paid extra, special attention when the kids were asked to volunteer to provide sound effects for She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain. The camp was very grateful for our efforts!
